Winnipeg police have laid more than 170 charges against three suspects in connection to the break and enter of 40 condominium and apartment complexes in the city.
According to police, the break-ins happened between November 4 and December 14, 2022. During the crime spree, six vehicles were stolen, doors and storage lockers were pried open and property stolen, vehicles were broken into and in one instance a shotgun was taken from an SUV.
Investigators estimate that about $100,000 worth of property was taken and about $250,000 in damages were caused.
Police were able to link the break-ins and identify the suspects.
On December 15, one of the suspects was seen driving a stolen vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was taken into custody. Several hours later two other suspects were taken into custody at a traffic stop near Main Street and Redwood Avenue.
The next day officers executed a search warrant at a St. John’s area home which resulted in about $10,000 of stolen property being recovered.
Harris Delaney Bruce (26), Dwayne Allan Nicholson (44) and Angelina Rose Custer (22) are all facing break-in, theft and firearm-related charges for their alleged involvement.
All three were detained in custody.
