The man wanted for a sexual assault on a woman in her 20s at a Rapid Transitway bus stop has been arrested and charged by police.
Police say the victim was sitting inside the shelter near Chancellor Drive and Pembina Highway just after midnight on November 5, 2022, when a man approached with a knife. The man told the victim to take off her clothes and threatened to hurt her if she didn’t do as he directed. The victim was then physically and sexually assaulted. The male fled as a bus arrived and interrupted the assault. The suspect was seen fleeing southbound with some of the victim’s property.
Investigators identified the suspect as the male wanted in two armed robberies at the bus stop at Keewatin and Burrows on November 2nd and 4th.
On November 8, 2022, Jaden Isreal Kennedy was arrested in the first 100 block of Foxberry Bay.
Kennedy was processed for his alleged involvement in the robberies he was wanted on then charged for his alleged involvement in the sexual assault case with:
- Sexual Assault with a Weapon
- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery
- Uttering Threats
- Possession of a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Release Order x 3
Kennedy was detained in custody.
