94 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. Four deaths were reported due to the virus.
The people who died from COVID-19 are identified as:
- a male in his 60s from the Winnipeg health region;
- a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region;
- a male in his 70s from the Interlake-Eastern health region; and
- a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region and linked to the outbreak at the Concordia Place Personal Care Home.
The five-day test positivity rate is currently 4.2 per cent provincially and 2.9 per cent in Winnipeg.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 32,699.
Today’s cases are from the following health regions:
- three cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
- 45 cases in the Northern health region;
- seven cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
- 10 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
- 29 cases in the Winnipeg health region.
There are currently 909 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 30,873 people listed as recovered.
152 people are being treated in the hospital of which 56 are considered infectious. 22 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 11 of them still considered infectious.
The total number of confirmed variant of concern cases of B.1.1.7 is 12 and B.1.351 is 11, bringing the total number of confirmed variant of concern cases to 23.
916 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.
1,837 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 548,095 tests completed.
