93 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths reported Tuesday

93 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified today. Public health officials report that four more people died from the virus.

The current provincial COVID-19 test positivity rate is 6.4 per cent.

Of the cases identified in the province today, 48 are people who have not been vaccinated. Five have been partially vaccinated and 40 are people who are fully vaccinated

There are 1,565 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 152 people are in hospital due to COVID-19 including 32 patients being treated in ICU.

2,516 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,193,572

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,338.

Public Health reported that on case of the Omicron variant of the virus has been detected in Manitoba. According to officials, the individual had recently travelled to one of the 10 federally advised countries. The individual has experienced mild symptoms. Case and contact management is currently underway.
