As News 4 previously told you , two people were stabbed after a large fight broke out at Smith Street and St. Mary Avenue just after midnight on July 2, 2017. When officers arrived they found three people who had suffered stab wounds. A 27-year-old male and a 26-year-old female were treated for stab wounds and released. A 22-year-old male was taken to hospital in critical condition. He has since been released from the hospital.
Last week police announced the arrest and charges of 7 suspects in the case.
Police indicated at the time that investigators were looking for two additional suspects.
On July 20, 2017 officers found one of the suspects in the 2100 block of McPhillips Street.
Arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault for his alleged involvement is 25 year old Laurence Martin Mesina from Winnipeg.
A ninth suspect has been identified and police are actively looking for Jeremy Andrew Cabalu, a 27-year-old male of Winnipeg.
Police describe Cabalu as Asian, 5’5″ tall and weighing about 114 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes
