83 new cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday

83 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. No deaths were reported today due to what public health is calling a data reset. The reset puts additional checks and balances, increases consistencies and improves regional data according to the provincial agency.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 7.6 per cent provincially and 4.1 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 29,733.

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • five cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 53 cases in the Northern health region;
  • five cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • two cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 18 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 3,421 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 25,480 people listed as recovered.

254 people are being treated in the hospital of which 99 are considered infectious. 36 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 24 of them still considered infectious.

832 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.

1,410 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 480,277 tests completed.

An outbreak has been declared at St. Boniface Hospital unit B5 in Winnipeg.
