55-year-old male recreational diver dies in West Hawk Lake

Tragedy struck Saturday, September 30, 2017, just after 1:30 pm as a recreational diver in West Hawk Lake died after running out of air.

RCMP say the 55-year-old male was in distress when he was pulled from the water and pronounced dead.

He had been conducting a dive with his wife at the time of the accident.

No foul play is suspect.

Investigators believed he suffered a medical issue as he surfaced after running out of air.

West Hawk Lake is approximately 160 kilometres east of Winnipeg near the Ontario border

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
