539 new cases of COVID-19 and six additional deaths reported Monday

539 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified Since Friday including 191 cases on Saturday, Dec. 4; 211 cases on Sunday, Dec. 5; and 137 cases today. Public health officials report that six more people died from the virus over the weekend.

The current provincial COVID-19 test positivity rate is 6.3 per cent.

Of the cases identified in the province today, 70 are people who have not been vaccinated. Seven have been partially vaccinated and 60 are people who are fully vaccinated

There are 1,613 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 152 people are in hospital due to COVID-19 including 30 patients being treated in ICU.

2,165 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,191,010

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,334.

An outbreak has been declared at Lions Prairie Manor personal care home, Skyview unit, in Portage la Prairie.
