RCMP bust five drivers in 40 minutes for speeding through a construction zone

RCMP have ticketed five drivers in Westman after they were caught speeding through a marked construction zone on the Trans-Canada Highway on Wednesday July 17, 2019.

Police had set up near the construction zone just east of Brandon. The construction zone speed limit was 60 kph.

Within 40 minutes police witnessed five drivers speeding through the zone at nearly double the speed limit.

  • 12:05 – 20yo @ 94 kmh = $940
  • 12:12 – 65yo @ 113kmh = $1438
  • 12:20 – 64yo @ 112kmh = $1412
  • 12:41 – 51yo @ 111 kmh = $1385
  • 12:43 – 22yo @ 121 kmh =$1647

Workers in the construction zone took to social media to thank RCMP for helping to keep them safe.

RCMP remind drivers to slow down and pay attention when you are behind the wheel.
