42nd Annual School Safety Patrol Award

The Winnipeg Police Service was host to the 42nd annual School Safety Patrol Awards at the Winnipeg Convention Centre Thursday morning.

School Safety Patrols began 80 years ago and Winnipeg was one of the first in Canada to be recognized.

There are approximately 7000 patrols in Winnipeg that help students to and from school everyday, rain or shine.

Every year the patrols are judged on their ability, professionalism and technique while on patrol by the School Education Section of the Winnipeg Police Service.
