400 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified today

400 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified today. Public health officials are reporting two deaths related to the virus today.

The current provincial COVID-19 test positivity rate is 9.9 per cent.

Of the cases identified in the province today, 91 are people who are not fully vaccinated and 309 of those who are fully vaccinated.

There are 2,622 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 137 people are in hospital due to COVID-19 including 24 patients being treated in ICU.

One new case of the Omicron variant was discovered bringing the total number in Manitoba to 18

3,524 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,240,802.

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,368.

Outbreaks have been declared at Beacon Hill Lodge, in Winnipeg, Westview School, Grade 1/2 cohort, in Winnipeg; École Margaret Underhill, Grade 1, in Winnipeg; Faith Academy Middle School, in Winnipeg; and École Regent Park, class 4B, in Winnipeg.
