Winnipeg Police are investigating the 37th homicide in 2019 after a male was found outside a St. Mathews Avenue home.
Police say they were called to the area around 9:50 am. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died shortly afterwards.
Greenway elementary school, on nearby Burnell Street, was placed under a hold-and-secure protocol for part of the morning. When a school is placed on hold and secure it means no one is allowed to enter or leave the building but classes continue.
Members of the Homicide Unit are investigating. Anyone with information that can help police is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
