37 YEAR OLD MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER ASSAULTING TWO WINNIPEG POLICE CADETS

A 37 year old man is facing criminal charges after he assaulted two Winnipeg Police Cadets.

It happened on June 11, 2017 around 5:00 pm. Two Cadets were patrolling in the area of Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue when they saw a man consuming alcohol. 

According to police the cadets believed the man was intoxicated and they attempted to take him into custody.

The man threatened and then assaulted the two cadets and continued to fight until Police officers came on scene and took the man into custody.

As the male was being searched police found a concealed knife in his waistband.

Uhanis Oliver Lotio, 37, from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement in the incident with Assault Peace Officer x 2, Resist Peace Officer, Possess Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Utter Threats x2, Mischief Under, Fail to Comply with Probation Order , Consume and Possess Liquor in Public Place.
