327 new cases and 11 more deaths identified

Manitoba Public Health announced today that there are 327 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province and eleven more people have died. These numbers include data January 1 and 2. One case was removed due to a data correction bringing the net new cases to 326.

The five-day test positivity rate is 10.4 per cent provincially. In Winnipeg, the test positivity rate is 11.1

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 25,026.

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • 16 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
  • 52 cases in the Northern health region
  • 13 cases in Prairie Mountain health region
  • 33 cases in the Southern health region
  • 213 cases in the Winnipeg health region

There are currently 4,559 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 19,789 people who have been listed as recovered.

334 are being treated in the hospital of which 239 are considered infectious. 42 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 36 of them still considered infectious.

678 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.

1,898 tests were completed yesterday. and 1,486 tests were completed on December 31. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 425,037 tests completed.

Outbreaks have been declared at the St. Anthony’s General Hospital ACIU in The Pas, and Deer Lodge Centre on Lodge 4 East and Seven Oaks General Hospital 5U1-3 in Winnipeg.
