The three-year-old little boy who was stabbed by his mother’s former boyfriend died from his injuries on Saturday afternoon.
Hunter Straight-Smith was taken off life support on Saturday and died with family around him.
Hunter was found by police suffering severe stab wounds around 2:30 am Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at a home on Prichard Avenue.
Daniel Jensen, 33 is facing charges of attempted murder, Assault Cause Bodily Harm and six counts of Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice.
Police say the accused is not the biological father and was with the child’s mother at a Main Street bar Wednesday when he allegedly violently assaulted her. He then went to the home on Prichard Avenue and brutally attacked the child.
It is likely that police will upgrade the charges against Jensen in the coming days.
