3 new COVID-19 cases, provincial park public facilities closed

Three new cases of Covid-19 were identified in Manitoba bringing the total number of cases to 224.

The number of fatalities remains at 3

11 people are being treated in hospital including 5 in intensive care.

76 people are listed as recovered.

The Cadham Provincial Laboratory tested 551 samples on Wednesday bringing the total number of test since early February to 15,259.

Testing criteria has been expanded to include first responders, including police, firefighters and paramedics, with respiratory symptoms.

Provincial public health officials warn that current case numbers do not mean that the risk associated with the virus is reduced. They say that current numbers may be a reflection of the effect of strict social distancing measures.

Effective immediately public facilities like washrooms, play structures, picnic areas and groups shelters are closed in all provincial parks.
