Body found in Waverley Heights hidden in a barrel of chemicals.
Winnipeg Police have arrested three people in connection to a homicide in summer of 2016.
In late 2016 police began an investigation into human remains that had been found in the Waverly Heights area of Winnipeg. The victim was identified as Jennifer Barrett, 42.
The victim and the three accused shared a residence in the Waverley Heights neighbourhood of Winnipeg. In August, 2016, the victim died from injuries sustained during an assault that lasted several days. The victim’s body was placed in a barrel along with several chemical agents which sped up the decomposition of the body. The barrel had been left on the property.
On December 1, 2016 a search warrant was executed. Due to the decomposition of the body a forensic investigation was required to identify the remains.
The following people have been arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the homicide: Perez Adaryll Cleveland, 43 has been charged with first degree murder, Jessica Elizabeth Reid, 34 from Winnipeg has been charged with Accessory after the fact to murder, Holley Alyssa Sullivan, 28 from Calgary has been charged with Accessory after the fact of murder.
Cleveland was arrested while in custody at Headingley Jail, Reid was arrested at a residence in Winnipeg, and Sullivan was arrested with the assistance of Calgary Police Service.
All three have been detained in custody.
