Police have charged a 29-year-old Winnipeg man after child sexual abuse images were found on his cellular phone.
Police say that members of the Organized Crime Unit were involved in a firearms trafficking investigation between April and December 2021. During the investigation 12 people were arrested and charged with various firearm and drug trafficking offences.
The accused’s cell phone was seized during the investigation and an analysis of it discovered the images. The phone was turned over to the WPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the suspect was re-arrested.
Jason Dean Bigl has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possess Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography, Import, Distributes, Sells or Possesses Child Pornography, Makes, Prints, Publishes or Possesses Child Pornography. two counts of Counselling to Commit Indictable Offence, Transmit, Make Available, Distribute or Sell Child Pornography to a Person Under 18
He was detained in custody.
