239 new cases of COVID-19 identified Friday including two additional Omicron cases

239 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified since today. Public health officials report that one more person died from the virus today

The current provincial COVID-19 test positivity rate is 6.6 per cent.

Of the cases identified in the province today, 92 are people who are not fully vaccinated and 147 in those who are fully vaccinated.

There are 1,799 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 139 people are in hospital due to COVID-19 including 33 patients being treated in ICU.

Two new cases of the Omicron variant were detected in the province for a total of eight.

3,553 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,224,739

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,360.

Outbreaks have been declared at Meadows School, Grade 5/6 cohort, in Brandon and Faith Academy Middle School, Grade 6B, in Winnipeg.
