A 23-year-old female is in custody after she allegedly stabbed another woman during a verbal dispute on December 31, 2022.

Police say that the incident happened in the early evening when the accused went to the victim’s residence and the two got into an argument. The dispute escalated to the point that the suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition and underwent emergency surgery.

Officers found and arrested the suspect. During the arrest, the suspect assaulted one of the officers. The officer was not injured during the assault.

The accused has been charged for her alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Assault a Peace Officer, Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition and Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking.
