222 new cases of COVID-19 reported, proof of vaccination no longer required

Manitoba has reported 222 new cases of COVID-19 today along with no additional deaths reported. The total number of deaths due to the virus is 1,680.

Hospitalizations are currently 463 people being treated for COVID-19 including 29 receiving treatment in ICU.

The provincial test positivity rate is at 15.9 per cent.

There are currently 9,606 active cases in Manitoba.

Effective today, Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Manitoba no longer requires proof of vaccination in public places. Private businesses may continue to require proof of vaccination if they choose. The province will be maintaining the vaccination database and app.

Proof of vaccination and testing requirements for designated public sector employees, including education, child-care and health-care workers, have also ended.
