RCMP report that 22 people crossed into Manitoba near Emerson early Sunday morning. All of those captured by police requested refugee status and were taken to the Canada Border Service Agency at the Emerson port of entry for processing.
Close to 100 people have illegally crossed into Manitoba in 2017 so far.
