218 new cases of COVID-19

218 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in the province today. One case has been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 217. No deaths were reported due to the virus.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 7.5 per cent provincially and 8.4 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 38.025

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • five cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 12 cases in the Northern health region;
  • 30 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • 15 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 156 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 2,173 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 34,884 people listed as recovered.

Due to issues with the provincial data system, hospitalization data is not available.

2,806 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 649,827 tests completed.

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba is 968.

An outbreak has been declared at École Marie Anne Gaboury school in Winnipeg and it has moved to remote learning until May 7. An outbreak has been declared at Swan Valley Lodge Personal Care Home in Swan River.
