211 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death identified

211 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in the province today. Eight cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 203. One death was reported due to the virus:

  •  a female in her 90s from Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to the outbreak at Russell Health Centre.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 6.0 per cent provincially and 6.3 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 36,470

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • 14 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 25 cases in the Northern health region;
  • 27 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • seven cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 138 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 1,783 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 33,727 people listed as recovered.

132 people are being treated in the hospital of which 66 are considered infectious. 33 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 18 of them still considered infectious.

2,194 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 627,113 tests completed.

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba is 960.
