21 tickets issued to businesses violating COVID-19 restrictions

The Manitoba government reported that between February 21 and February 27, a total of 1,102 inspections took place related to COVID-19 restrictions which resulted in nine warnings and 23 tickets being issued.

According to the province, all of the tickets were issued to individuals and businesses in the Southern Health region and included one person receiving a $298 ticket for failure to wear a mask in an indoor public place and one person fines $8,550 for violating the Federal Quarantine Act.

The other $105,000 in fines were issued through 21 tickets to businesses who were allegedly violating public health restrictions.

Tickets were not issued in any other region in the province that week.
