Stabbing on Dumoulin Street Under Investigation
On October 15, 2024, at approximately 4:06 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Dumoulin Street. East District General Patrol Officers arrived at the scene and found a 24-year-old male victim with life-threatening injuries to his upper body. Officers provided emergency medical care, including a life-saving chest seal, before the victim was transported to the hospital in unstable condition. He has since been upgraded to stable condition but remains hospitalized. The initial investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were together at Orange Park, near the intersection of St. Joseph Avenue and Notre Dame Street, when a physical altercation escalated, resulting in the victim being stabbed several times. The suspect fled the area before police arrived. The weapon used in the assault was located and seized by police. The suspect is described as an Indigenous male, between 20-25 years old, approximately 5’5″ in height, with long black hair worn in a ponytail, and wearing a dark hoodie and khaki pants.
