Time to lace up the skates!
Winnipeg’s famous river tail officially opened Monday and for the first time in three years also includes a trail along the Assiniboine River.
Skaters can travel the river from the Forks to Osborne Village along the Assiniboine and from the Forks to the Norwood Bridge along the Red River.
As usual warming huts are out on the ice should you need a little break from the weather.
It is expected that over the next few weeks the length of the river trail will be expanded depending on weather and ice conditions.
