200 new cases of COVID-19 and five additional deaths reported

Manitoba has reported 200 new cases of COVID-19 today along with five additional deaths reported. The total number of deaths due to the virus is 1,708.

Hospitalizations are currently 424 people being treated for COVID-19 including 22 receiving treatment in ICU.

The provincial test positivity rate is at 12.7 per cent.

There are currently 4,900 active cases in Manitoba.

Beginning next Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the public health requirement for using masks in public places ends. Manitobans will still be required to wear a mask in all health-care facilities across the province.

Also on March 15, people who test positive for COVID-19 will no longer be required to isolate but public health does recommend that if you have symptoms that you stay home and isolate for five days after symptoms start and continue until you no longer have a fever and other symptoms subside over the past 24 hours.

The province advises that those who test positive but have no symptoms to isolate for five days from the day they were tested

Staff and students in schools and child-care facilities will no longer have to wear a mask as of March 15.
