Just after midnight Sunday June 18, 2017 Brandon Police got a about a vehicle hitting a “fixed object” in the 3300 block of Victoria Avenue.
Police learned that the vehicle in question had been in a parking lot in the area, turned onto Victoria Avenue then made a U-turn at Victoria and Clark Drive travelling west. The vehicle jumped the curb at at this point and struck a tree. Continuing westbound the vehicle went over the median smashing into a second tree then coming to rest after hitting a light standard.
Police arrested the 20 year old driver and administered a breath test at BPS headquarters which showed that he was over the legal limit.
The driver has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driving over .08.
He was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
