RCMP are investigating a serious crash that took the life of a seven-year-old girl from Winnipeg and a 61-year-old man from the RM of St. Andrews on Highway 2, three kilometres east of Fannystelle on Thursday, July 2, 2020.
Police say that a number of vehicles were stopped in the eastbound lane on Highway 2 while waiting for permission to travel through a marked construction zone.
An eastbound semi-truck failed to stop and drove into the the lineup of vehicles.

Fifteen people were injured in the crash. Several of the injured were treated at the scene by paramedics and released while six people, two adults, two under 16 and two under 3, were transported to hospital.
Three of the victims, a 22-year-old female, a 14-year-old female and a 10-year-old female remain in hospital with serious injuries.
The 56-year-old Saskatchewan driver of the semi was arrested at the scene and is facing two counts of dDangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death, two counts of Criminal Negligence Causing Death, and three counts of Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Bodily Harm. He is currently in custody.
In total eight vehicles were involved in the collision; five passenger vehicles, two semis with trailers and a motorcycle.
The investigation continues.
