Bad sandwiches the presumed culprit
Food poisoning is never fun especially when you contract it while attending a work event.
Thats what happened to 19 employees of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) after attending an event at St. Boniface Hospital last week.
It happened on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 as staff were at an internal lecture series that was catered.
The WRHA says that the incidents of food poisoning were confined to the event and it was likely the sandwiches that were the cause. No other food served at the hospital tainted.
One member of the staff who fell ill required intravenous fluids because of dehydration.
