181 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. These numbers include cases from Friday and Saturday. Three cases previously reported were removed due to a data correction. One death was reported today due to the virus.
The five-day test positivity rate is currently 4.4 per cent provincially and 4.0 per cent in Winnipeg.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 34,352.
Today’s cases are from the following health regions:
- one case in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
- 70 cases in the Northern health region;
- 19 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
- four cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
- 87 cases in the Winnipeg health region.
There are currently 1,252 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 32,162 people listed as recovered.
142 people are being treated in the hospital of which 66 are considered infectious. 29 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 12 of them still considered infectious.
The total number of confirmed variant of concern cases of B.1.1.7 is 235 and B.1.351 is 20. 15 variants of concern cases have not been categorized bringing the total number of confirmed variant of concern cases to 270.
938 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.
1,465 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 588,151 tests completed.
Outbreaks have been declared at St. Anthony’s Hospital Psychiatric Unit in The Pas, Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home and Lions Personal Care Home both in Winnipeg.
