153 new cases of COVID-19 were identified in the province today. Four cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 149. One death was reported due to the virus:
- a female in her 30s from the Interlake–Eastern health region.
The five-day test positivity rate is currently 5.3 per cent provincially and 5.1 per cent in Winnipeg.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 35,688.
Today’s cases are from the following health regions:
- 10 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
- 57 cases in the Northern health region;
- seven cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
- six cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
- 73 cases in the Winnipeg health region.
There are currently 1,528 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 33,205 people listed as recovered.
137 people are being treated in the hospital of which 62 are considered infectious. 35 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 16 of them still considered infectious.

Public health officials advise the first case of the P1 variant of concern, first identified in Brazil, has been confirmed by sequencing in Manitoba. The case was identified in an individual from the Interlake–Eastern health region.

955 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.
2,648 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 613,701 tests completed.
An outbreak has been declared at the Parkview Place Long Term Personal Care Home in Winnipeg.
