143 new cases of COVID-19, province expands third dose eligibility

143 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified today. Two additional deaths were also reported.

The current provincial COVID-19 test positivity rate is 6.2 per cent.

Of the cases identified in the province today, 84 are people who have not been vaccinated. Five have been partially vaccinated and 54 are people who are fully vaccinated

There are 1,457 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 143 people hospitalized. 28 Manitobans are being treated in intensive care units

2,914 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,118,995

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,268.

Manitoba is expanding access to a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to all adults over the age of 18. A minimum of six months is required between second and third doses, except in very limited circumstances.
