14 people facing sexual assault charges in Norway House

RCMP are investigating a serious sexual assault in Norway House that involve 14 accused.

Police say that on August 11, 2021 officers went to a home in the community as part of an ongoing investigation. While they were speaking with a male outside the home a female came out of the residence screaming for help.

The woman was suffering from a number of serious injuries and told police she had been held against her will and repeatedly assaulted.

Officers entered the home and arrested the 11 people inside in connection to the assault.

The female victim was first taken to Norway House nursing station but later transferred to Winnipeg for treatment.

Kendra Mckay, a 29-year-old female, Kiefer Menow, a 29-year-old male, and Stefan Monias, a 30-year-old male all from Norway House along with a 17-year-old female from Winnipeg have all been charged for their alleged involvement with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats and Assault.

All four were detained in custody.

Eight other suspects face charges for their alleged involvement of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Forcible Confinement. They include:

  • A 20-year old female from Norway House
  • A 28-year-old female from Norway House
  • A 32-year-old female from Norway House
  • A 33-year-old female from Norway House
  • A 37-year-old female from Norway House
  • A 48-year-old female from Norway House
  • A 27-year-old male from Winnipeg
  • A 52-year-old male from St-Adolphe

Police are also looking for two other individuals in connection to the case

Cody Monias, a 36-year-old male and Travis Apetagon, a 40-year-old male both from Norway House are wanted on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Forcible Confinement and Assault for their alleged involvement.
