Manitoba Public Health reported 13 additional deaths today related to COVID-19 including:
- a male in his 70s from the Interlake-Eastern health region;
- a female in her 70s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region, linked to the outbreak at Villa Youville personal care home;
- a male in his 70s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region;
- a male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region;
- a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Charleswood Care Centre;
- a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Charleswood Care Centre;
- a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Charleswood Care Centre;
- a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Charleswood Care Centre;
- a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Park Manor Care Home;
- a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Park Manor Care Home;
- a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region;
- a female in her 90s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Charleswood Care Centre; and
- a male in his 90s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Charleswood Care Centre.
293 new cases of the virus have been identified today with the current provincial five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate at 13.3. In Winnipeg, the rate is 13.9. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is now 19,947.
Data from public health shows that of the cases identified today 39 are from the Interlake-Eastern health region, 41 from Northern health region, 12 from the Prairie Mountain Health region, 49 from Southern Health region and 152 from the Winnipeg health region.
There are currently 5,380 active cases of COVID-19 in the province. 14,116 people are reported to have recovered from the virus.
298 individuals are currently being treated for COVID-19 in the hospital of which 43 of those are in intensive care.
The total number of deaths from the virus has now risen to 451.
Yesterday 2,558 tests were completed bringing the total number of lab tests that have been completed since early February 2020, to 380,664.
An outbreak has been declared at the Rehabilitation and Surgery unit at Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler.

The chief provincial public health officer urges Manitobans to only leave their homes for essential purposes. When leaving the house to obtain essentials, be sure to physically distance, wear a mask in indoor public places and avoid crowded spaces. Do not leave the home if you are sick, or when any member of your family is sick. Further, do not socialize with anyone from outside your household.
Public health officials are also advising that anyone who is symptomatic or has a household member who is symptomatic, the entire household needs to self-isolate pending COVID-19 test results.
