RCMP near Portage la Prairie conducted a traffic stop on a van just after 3:30 am on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Officers had spotted the van travelling 107 km/h in an 80 km/h construction zone on Highway 1
When officers approached the van they found a 12-year-old male behind the wheel of the vehicle. He was the only person in the vehicle.
The youth was taken into custody and has been charged with Taking Vehicle without Consent, Speeding and Driving Without a Licence.
