118 new cases identified as death toll increases by four

118 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified today with 46 cases from the Northern health region, 11 from the Interlake-Eastern region, seven cases in the Prairie Mountain health region, nine in the Southern health region and 45 cases in Winnipeg health region.

Manitoba Public Health announced four additional deaths including:

  • a male in his 80s from the Northern health region, linked to the outbreak at the Rod McGillivary Memorial Care Home;
  • a male in his 60s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at the Southeast Personal Care Home;
  • a female in her 70s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at the Concordia Place; and
  • a female in her 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at the Health Science Centre WRS3.

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba is 773.

The five-day test positivity rate is 10.6 per cent across the province and 7.3 in Winnipeg.

The total number lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba since the virus first surfaced is 27,629.

There are 3,108 active cases with data showing 23,748 people have recovered.

There are 249 people in hospital with 135 of those considered infectious. There are 35 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units with 23 considered infectious.

On Sunday 1,322 tests were completed bringing the total number of tests completed since February 2020 to 453,481.

Outbreaks have been declared at Golden Door Geriatric Centre and Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg.
