11 businesses receive tickets for breaching COVID-19 public health orders

Several Manitoba businesses and individuals were fined during the week of October 4 to 10, 2021, for violating public health orders surrounding COVID-19.

The province says that 57 warnings were issued along with 31 tickets.

Eighteen individuals received fines for $298 for not wearing a mask in an indoor public place.

Three $1,296 tickets were handed out for various offences.

Ten $5,000 fines were issued to businesses that failed to comply with public health orders.

The businesses that were fined are AM Food Fare on Maryland Street in Winnipeg ($1,296), Chaise Cafe and Lounge on Provencher Blvd ($5,000), Tuxedo Family Restaurant / Monstrosity Burger on Corydon Avenue ($5,000), Morfit Training Centre on Donald Street and on Tache Avenue (2x $5,000), The Village Night Club and Lounge on Osborne Street ($5,000).

Five other business in Brandon, Selkirk, Shoal Lake, Steinbach and Winkler also received a $5000 fine for breaching public health orders.
