102 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the province today including 25 cases on Friday, Aug. 13; 24 cases on Saturday, Aug. 14; 20 cases on Sunday, Aug. 15; and 33 cases on Monday, Aug. 16. Three additional deaths were reported over the weekend due to the virus:
- a female in her 60s from the Prairie Mountain Health region;
- a female in her 60s from the Winnipeg health region; and
- a male in his 60s from the Interlake–Eastern health region, linked to the B.1.1.7 (alpha) variant of concern.
The five-day test positivity rate is currently 1.8 per cent provincially and 1.4 percent in Winnipeg
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 58,049
There are currently 591 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 56,271 people listed as recovered.
69 Manitobans are in hospital with COVID-19 of which 12 are in intensive care.
1,380 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 897,858 tests completed.
The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba is 1,187
