Overnight fire sends one woman to hospital

One woman was sent to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation as the home she was in went up in flames. Just after 12:30 am Monday, August 7, 2017, firefighters arrived at a home between Cochrane and St. Cross Streets that was fully involved. Initial indications are that the fire started on the first floor and moved up through the building to the roof. Investigators are looking into what started the blaze.     -News 4 –

Winnipeg firefighters battled two separate fires on Young Street Saturday night between Broadway and Portage Avenue. Just before 11:00 pm emergency crews got a call about a two story home on fire. House fire on Cordova Street put out quickly

    No injuries reported           Just after the noon hour on Monday, July 17, 2017, fire crews responded to a two story house fire on Cordova Street just north of Academy Avenue. The fire started in the basement of the home but was quickly extinguished once firefighters arrived. Winnipeg fire crews were called to the scene of a working fire early Sunday evening by Winnipeg Police Cadets who discovered the fire. It happened just after 5:oo pm in the 400 block of Toronto Street Heavy black smoke greeted fire fighters as they pulled up. One person in the home was able to escape when the blaze broke out.
