    The smell of smoke was noticeable several blocks away            Fire crews responded to a home on Tweedsmuir Road Saturday night June 17, 2017  just before midnight. TORONTO STREET HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE

Winnipeg fire crews were called to the scene of a working fire early Sunday evening by Winnipeg Police Cadets who discovered the fire. It happened just after 5:oo pm in the 400 block of Toronto Street Heavy black smoke greeted fire fighters as they pulled up. One person in the home was able to escape when the blaze broke out.     $150,000 damage, one person sent to hospital, family pet dies           Fire crews responded to a blaze in the 100 block of Brunet Promenade around 4:00 pm Sunday afternoon. One person was taken to hospital and a pet rabbit died resulting from the fire.         The fire was contained to a bedroom on the second floor of the home. The 300 block of Montgomery Avenue was the scene of an early morning fire in Fort Rouge on Thursday. Emergency crews got the call around 6:00 am. Two people who herein the home at the time of the blaze were able to escape before firefighters arrived to put out the fire that started in a bedroom and quickly spread. Fire crews responded to what proved to be a difficult blaze in Elmwood Friday morning. It started around 5:30am in the 500 block of Jamison Avenue. When crews arrived they found the home full of smoke. Fire fighters attacked the fire on the first floor but were forced to pull out when it became unsafe as the fire spread to the attic. Smoke could be seen billowing  out of the building as firefighters fought the inferno with multiple crews.
