ARMED ROBBER BUSTED AFTER TARGETING MULTIPLE BANKS AND BUSINESSES

Winnipeg Police have arrested a man who began a robbery spree in the city in mid February of 2016. Between February 15 2016 and June 26 of 2017 the suspect allegedly robbed two commercial businesses and five financial institutions. The man wore a disguise in all the robberies and used a firearm in at least three of them according to police. He also threatened staff during the thefts. Police say that just after noon on Friday a financial institution in the 1300 block of Plessis Road reported that they had been robbed by a lone man. On Monday June 12, 2017 around 5:30 am police received a report of a robbery in the 800 block of Arlington Street. Two people entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes. One of the suspects was armed with what appeared to be a machete. Soon after police got involved in the case one man was located in the area and arrested.
