Stolen vehicle, drugs and police chase send one woman to jail

Winnipeg Police have one woman in custody after she tried to evade officers.

It happened Thursday morning February 22, 2018, around 11:15 am. Officers in the Street Crimes Unit noticed a rental vehicle in the area of Pacific Avenue and McPhillips Street. As officers were turning around before attempting a traffic stop the vehicle left the area.

Police quickly found the vehicle in the back of a residence near Wellington Avenue and Arlington Street and the suspect fleeing down the back lane.

Officers chased the suspect down and took her into custody.

A search of her person revealed three bags of Meth worth about $4,500 as well as cash.

Police say that the vehicle the suspect had been driving had been stolen on February 19, 2018, from the 600 block of Boyd Avenue. The vehicle also had stolen plates which had been stolen February 17, 2018, on Flora Avenue.

Amanda Crystal Rose Munroe, 27 from Winnipeg, has been charged for her alleged involvement with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

She was detained in custody.
