Winnipeg Police have arrested four people in connection with the theft of a vehicle, drug trafficking and weapons offences.
In the early morning hours of Monday, July 9, 2018, a Black 2010 GMC Sierra was stolen from the 600 block of Toshack Road in East St. Paul.
Later in the day, the vehicle was located by members of the Drug Enforcement Unit on Sutherland Avenue. The driver was identified as a male who is known to police and Street Crime, Tactical and patrol officers approached the vehicle as it was stopped in the 800 block of Main Street. The driver rammed his vehicle into an unmarked tactical support team vehicle then reversed around that vehicle and tried to get away on the sidewalk. A second tactical unit was slammed into head-on. Both police units and the stolen vehicle were extensively damaged.
Four people were removed from the stolen truck and arrested.
One officer suffered an injury and was taken to hospital, treated and released.
The 35-year-old driver is facing more than twenty charges after officers found several weapons, ammunition and drugs in the vehicle
Kenneth Micheal CLUSIAU was detained in custody for his alleged involvement.
The three female passengers in the vehicle face property, weapons and drug charges for their alleged involvement
Cheyenne Tasha BALLANTYNE, 27, Hailey Vanessa Lynn REGENT, 20 and Stephanie Barbara Ann HUNTER, were also detained in custody.
