Home heating gas rates will drop November 1st according to Public Utilities Board decision

It’s not often that we see a decrease in rates we have to pay to heat our homes but effective November 1, 2017 that is exactly what is going to happen.

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) approved the application of Centra Gas Manitoba Inc. (Centra) to decrease the current Primary Gas rate.

Currently, the rate is  $0.0921/m3 but on November 1 it will drop to $0.0831/m3.

The PUB says that the average Manitoba home will see a saving of about 2.7% per year which would be about $19.

The next review of primary gas rates will be in February 2018.
