  On June 13, 2017 Winnipeg Police received a call about a male who had entered a female washroom at the University of Winnipeg and began crawling on the floor looking under stalls. Winnipeg Police Cadets and members of Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were working in the area of Martha Street when they were called over by bystanders to help a man who had been brutally assaulted. The first case involves a complaint about an incident that occurred in the Manitou area. On April 21, 2017 RCMP had responded to a vehicle accident. Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of 27 year old William George Sumner. Sumner was found by emergency crews Sunday night around 6:15 pm after receiving a report of an injured man in the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of Prichard Avenue. Sumner was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
