Winnipeg Police began a firearms investigation into a 35 year old Winnipeg man last December. In March police arrested Conor Errols Woods and executed a search warrant on his residence on Edgewood Street. Investigators found a number of firearms and a large quantity of ammunition, in addition to electronics, computer hardware and an amount of marijuana. The investigation also revealed that the suspect had been firing guns in the basement of the property. Forensic investigation into the seized computer found evidence of child pornography. TWO MORE PEOPLE CHARGED IN SUMNER HOMICIDE

Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged two more people in connection to the homicide of  27 year old William George Sumner. Sumner had been found by police in the front yard of a home in the 600 block of Prichard Avenue on June 18, 2017. He had been shot. A mothers worst fears came true on Thursday June 29, 2017 after a man tried to abduct her child. It happened in the 300 block of McKenzie Street just before 3:00 pm. The mother was walking with her 4 year old daughter when a man grabbed the young girl and started to take off with her. The mother intervened and began to fight the man. TWO WOMEN IN HOSPITAL AFTER OVERNIGHT STABBINGS

Two women are recovering in hospital after both were stabbed in different incidents overnight. Just after 11:00 pm Thursday night a woman was found having suffered apparent stab wounds. She was taken to hospital in unstable condition. Four hours later on Balmoral Street another woman was stabbed. She was also taken to hospital in unstable condition. Both women have improved and are now listed in stable condition.

Premier Brian Pallister announced on Friday June 30, 2017  that the PC Caucus has kicked out MLA Steven Fletcher.  Fletcher, a former MP, was elected as an MLA in April of 2016. Since then he has often been outspoken and butted heads with other members of the party. This past May Fletcher delayed the passing of a bill on efficiency by filibustering a committee meeting.
